A curated selection of photographs from a summer spent on Stewart Island, New Zealand's third largest and southernmost island.
Stewart Island's Maori name is Rakiura, which means "glowing skies" - located between 46 and 47 degrees south, it is one of the best spots in New Zealand to see the Aurora Australis.
It is also home to a variety of endemic and often elusive birds, including the largest of the 5 species of kiwi, the Southern Brown or Tokoeka.
